At VetPets of Southwestern Pennsylvania, we strive to provide the necessary resources to individuals and their families who are in need of a therapy or service dog. We are dedicated to helping those in the local area, and our team of volunteers works hard to make sure that you have access to the forms, certifications, registrations, and legal and financial information necessary to get your service dog.
Our goal is to make the process of getting a therapy or service dog as stress-free and straightforward as possible. We understand that a service dog can be a life-changing asset in an individual’s life, and we are here to help navigate you through the process.

Emotional support dogs (ESAs) are pets and not service dogs.

Mental health professionals prescribe emotional support animals under the law.

Airlines are no longer required to accommodate emotional support animals.
Therapy dogs are dogs who go with their owners to volunteer in settings such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes.
A service animal is any breed and any size of dog that is trained to perform a task to help a disability. Go to ada.gov for more information.
2023 Grant Application
